1. Biotic Factors- biological influence on organisms within an ecosystem 2. Abiotic Factors- physical, or non living, factor that shapes the ecosystem 3. Niche- full range of physical and biological conditions in which an organism lives and the way in which the organism uses those conditions 4. Biome- group of ecosystems that have the same climate and dominate communities 5. Tolerance- organisms capacity to grow or thrive when subjected to an unfavorable enviromental factor 6. Microclimate- climate within a small area that differs significantly from the climate of the surrounding area 7. Biosphere- part of Earth in which life exists including land, water, and air atmosphere 8. Ecosystem- collection of all the organisms that live in a particular place, together with their nonliving enviroment 9. Community- assemblage of differenct populations that live together in a defined area 10. Population- group of individuals of the same species that live in the same area 11. Species- group of similar organisms that can breed and produce fertile offspring 12. Habitat- the area where an organism lives, including the biotic and abiotic factors that affect it
